We are very lucky to have dressage and jumping instructor Michelle Grimmer on hand to teach at Freedom Farm. Her insightful, supportive teaching style has won her many loyal students here, where she has become an integral part of our community. Michelle is currently offering individual lessons, and hopes to add dressage class in summer 2015. She coordinates many of our events and judges our young riders' shows. Her grey thoroughbred Niko is one of our boarders.
Michelle has been riding since 1981, coaching since 1988, and achieved a USPC ‘B’ Rating with the Boskydell Pony Club in Carbondale, Illinois. She actively competes in Eventing and Dressage. As an instructor, her specialty has been preparing horse and rider combinations for Eventing, and coaching at competitions. A versatile teacher, Michelle works with all ages and levels, with focus on strengthening the basics: balance & connection, the rider’s goals, and increasing rider confidence. She has been coached by top trainers in Eventing, Jumping and Dressage: From the beginning with Mark O’Donoghue (father of USEA Team Member, Meghan O'Donoghue), then later, Phillipe LeDorze, Edie Tarves (1984 Canadian Olympian), Peter Gray, and Bruce Davidson.
